Amber Chia’s Little Darling Just Turned Threeby Amber Chia
Posted on 31 October 2013
My little darling Ashton loves birthday parties. Every time we go to a birthday bash, he would ask me when his birthday party will be. He has been popping this question for months and months before he turned three on September 28th.
So, we had not one but THREE birthday parties for him! The parties were held at his school, my school and my friend’s ice cream place called Scott Gardens D’Eralia Italian Ice Cream. It goes without saying that Ashton was in his element at all the three parties. He enjoyed being the king for the day and was so happy with all the presents he received.
My birthday gift for Ashton was a trip to Disneyland in Tokyo. He had told me that he wanted to see Disneyland and it was such a coincidence that I had a show in Tokyo. So I flew Ashton and my husband over as well. It was a short five-day work cum holiday trip but we managed to visit a lot of places in Tokyo and Chiba. Ashton loved the weather as it was Autumn and the temperature was cool, around 10 to 20 degrees Centigrade. He could not get enough of Disneyland and has been asking me to go over again ever since we have been back home. Although Ashton is a huge Angry Bird fan, he was fascinated with all the Doraemon characters at the Tokyo Tower too.
Ashton is still enjoying school at Steps Ahead Learners BSC. He participated in their performance for International School Day recently and I am proud to say that he danced really well.
My little boy had his first dental check-up recently and he was so brave about it. There was no fussing at all.
Ashton is a very sociable boy. He has lots of friends and tells me he has a girl friend in school. ? He is so talkative. Sometimes, I think my ear hurts from hearing him talk so much. *LOL* He is in Halloween mood now. He has already decided on the costume he will wear for Halloween and has been reminding me to buy it for him. He wants to be the Angry Birds character, Anakin Skywalker.
I worry that I am spoiling him. I find it hard to refrain from buying him things that he asks for. He knows how to twist me around his little finger. He butters me up first before asking me to buy things for him. He uses lines like, “You are the most beautiful woman in the world” or “You are the best mommy in the world”.
Ashton has left the world of soft toys behind. He now loves superheroes – Star Wars characters, Spiderman, Batman, etc. Sometimes, he would ask me to play the baddie so he can be the superhero and brandish his toy sword and gun.
He has a favourite actor/singer too. He simply adores Crystal Lee.
He can get very possessive with me and I find it so sweet. When my husband hugs me, he will try to push him away. The other day, he told my husband, “Mommy is mine” and when my husband replied, “Mommy is mine too”, he went off to get his toy weapons to fight his Daddy. My little boy is very caring too. When I come home looking tired, he will ask with so much concern on his little face, “Are you alright Mommy?” Awww….motherhood is such sweet happiness!
Ashton is a lot of fun and I absolutely enjoy everything that is Ashton!!
