My son is now 2.5 months old. His weight is about 7.1kg and his height is 61cm.
Many people told me he is now over-weight. Is this true?
His birth weight is 3.845kg and birth length is 49cm.
My son is now on breastfeeding (direct feeding) & formula (3oz) every 3 hourly.
Please advise! Should I watch out on his feedings? Should I change his formula?

Your baby’s birth weight is slightly above the average birth weight of most of the newborns. His current body weight is still slightly above the median/average body weight for his age. His body length is appropriate for his age. By definition, he is not obese or over-weight according to the Who Health Organization growth chart. He will be over-weight if his current body weight is more than 7.5 kg.
To avoid overfeeding which may potentially lead to overweight, I suggest that you may stop adding formula ( or try to reduce the quantity/frequency of formula feeding ) to your baby after breastfeeding if you think your baby is getting adequate breast milk from you. You probably do not need to change the formula at this moment.
