I just gave birth and my baby boy is 2 weeks old.
We have given him milk powder for his daily milk consumption.
He has not pooed for 2 days. What should I do to make him have smooth bowel movements? Is it the milk powder problem? Should I change? What type of milk powder do you suggest I give him?
I tried to pump out breast milk but my milk supply stopped.
Hope to receive soonest reply..

Firstly, Congratulations on your new baby. It’s both exciting and trying times ahead.
Baby’s bowel habits can vary from either 4-5 times a day to once a week.
We always recommend breast feeding as it contains fatty acids that aid in passing frequent stools. Breast feeding however can be very challenging in the 1st 2 weeks so don’t give up. You can choose to supplement with any formula and there is no specific recommendation for this as I feel all are about the same.
What constitutes constipation is if the stools passed is hard or pellet like. Soft stools passed even once a week is normal. Please do not dilute your milk or give water.
I hope this is of some help to you
