I’m 35 weeks pregnant. I have just done my ultrasound scan last Saturday and my baby is still in breech position.
Is there any way that I can do to turn my baby, maybe some exercise or anything?

Dear Ms Chee,
Breech babies occur in about 3% of deliveries at term. It has been suggested that the Elkin’s manoeuvre (spending 15 minutes every 2 hours of the waking day in the knee-chest position) will help the baby to turn. Although the first report of this was very encouraging, subsequent studies have not found it to be useful.
There is some evidence that hypnotherapy may be useful. Acupuncture has been suggested. However, more studies are awaited to substantiate their claims.
If your doctor is experienced, he/she will suggest ECV (external cephalic version) to turn the baby. This will be successful in 50% of cases dependng on the doctor’s experience.
