My daughter is 2 years 8 months old now. She always have recurrent URTI almost every month.
I am very worried about this. I don’t want her to take too many antibiotics which she also don’t want to take and every time I have to force her or put them in her milk.
May I know if probiotic will help to strengthen her immune system so she won’t fall sick easily?

Recurrent upper respiratory tract infection is a very common condition among the toddlers. You probably do not need to worry too much if her symptoms resolved within 1 to 2 weeks without complications such as ear or lung infection. She is going to be a normal healthy child as long as she is thriving well with good weight gain and normal growth and these symptoms will become less frequent as she grows.
There is no specific vitamins or supplements/food that can prevent a toddler from getting recurrent cough and cold. So far there is insufficient scientific evidence that probiotic can enhance the immune system to prevent someone from falling sick.
Majority of the upper respiratory tract infections ( 80-90 %) are caused by viruses that will probably just need some symptomatic treatment and the children will recover without any complications. In fact, many children do not need any antibiotics or medications as most of these viral infections are self-limiting illnessess.
