My baby is now 2 months old. I’m breastfeeding him and giving formula milk as well.
Should I feed him water after he has drunk formula milk(say 10-20ml)? Indeed, my pediatrician said that infants shouldn’t take much water as my breast milk is more than enough. However, my in-law always want to feed him water.
Your reply is highly appreciated!

Generally, normal healthy infants do not require additional water intake besides breast milk or formula as there is sufficient water content in the breast milk/formula. Newborn or infant’s kidneys are not mature enough to handle large volume of water in their body.
Therefore, your paediatrician is right and you may educate your mother in-law about this fact.
