What should a parent do when their three year old keeps putting his fingers into his mouth?
He also loves to bite himself, lick his arms, knees and thighs and even the floor. He also has a habit of biting his nails, fingers and toes.

A 3 year old may be sucking his fingers because of habit, and, boredom or stress. He may also do so when he is in need of attention.Biting himself, his finger nails, fingers and toes suggest that he may be upset about something or in need of attention.
I suggest spending more quality time with him such as reading or playing together uninterrupted, be interested in him and give praise when due . If the habit persists, you may want to consider consulting a doctor.
