My baby who is now 6 months old was diagnosed with eczema when she was 3 months old. We keep her eczema under controlled mostly but she has occasional flare ups when teething and during particularly hot weather. Can you recommend a lightweight moisturiser which will not block pores and is easily absorbed but at the same time moisturising enough for her extremely dry skin ?

Dear mummy,
The underlying problem in eczema is dry skin which in turn leads to itchiness.Regular moisturing is absolutely vital, I would recommend at least 2 to 3 times daily.Best time is immediately after baby’s bath when the skin is still moist. Do avoid excessive usage of soaps as they may cause further drying of your baby’s skin. Often times, water alone will do, or a soap-free cleanser. Lightweight moisturisers include brands like Cetaphil, lotion for general usage, use the cream version for drier areas.
Happy mothering :>)
